Joanne Gwarli Nangala

Joanne Nangala has lived in Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia for the last six years. She is originally from Papunya in central Australia. Papunya is about 240 km west of Alice Springs.

Gwarli Nangala is Joanne's Aboriginal name. It's also the name she chose to use for her website and business.

In business for the last five years, she started out by having a small stall at the Mindil Beach Markets in Darwin. She has progressed to selling her products to galleries in Australia and also exports her art overseas. Joanne sells the artwork on behalf of other artists as well as her own.
