AUSTRALIAN SONGSG'day G'daySlim Dusty (David Gordon Kirkpatrick 1927 - 2003) made this song famous, so much so, that many incorrectly believe he wrote it. In 1970 Slim Dusty was the first Australian entertainer to be appointed MBE. He was also the first Australian to earn a Gold Record.
G'day g'day, how ya goin', what d'ya know, well strike a light Isn't great to be an Aussie Down at the pub or at a party G'day g'day, how ya goin', what d'ya know, well strike a light Now when Italians meet they all go crazy Now watch out for a Frenchmen or he'll kiss you G'day g'day, how ya goin', what d'ya know, well strike a light It's a greeting that you'll hear across Australia G'day g'day, how ya goin', what d'ya know, well strike a light
